Gallery 30 will feature local authors Michael J. Birkner and Carol A. Hegeman signing their new book, Images of America: Eisenhower’s Gettysburg Farm for First Friday on May 5th.

Elegantly told through historical photos and research drawn from the archives of the Eisenhower National Historic Site,  Images of America: Eisenhower’s Gettysburg Farm, shares the story of Dwight and Mamie Eisenhower's years in Gettysburg. Beginning with their purchase of the Allen Redding farm in 1950 during Eisenhower's presidency and continuing through their retirement in Gettysburg, Images of America: Eisenhower’s Gettysburg Farm will delight the Gettysburg history buff in all of us.  

About the Authors
Michael J. Birkner is Professor of History at Gettysburg College and the author or editor of thirteen books, among them a young adult biography of Dwight D. Eisenhower, and many articles on political history and other themes.
 
Carol A. Hegeman retired as the Supervisory Historian at the Eisenhower National Historic Site. During her career with the National Park Service, she oversaw visitor services and developed interpretive and educational programs on Eisenhower’s life and work.  She is the editor of the book, Eisenhower National Historic Site Museum Collections.
