Stories the Monuments Tell: A Photo Tour of Gettysburg, Told by its Monuments by Leon Reed, tells the unique stories the momuments of the Gettysburg Battlefield. A retired educator, Leon has always enjoyed viewing the monuments that decorate the battlefield. He feels a deep connection to those who fought at Gettysburg and tells their stories through photographing the monuments.
In addition to Stories the Monuments Tell: A Photo Tour of Gettysburg, Told by its Monuments, Leon has authored two other books relating to American history, A Patriot’s Story: Jeremiah Lott and the American Revolution and A Soldier in Patton’s Army: the Fight Across Europe With the 80th “Blue Ridge” Division in World War II (co-author). His work has appeared in the Gettysburg Magazine, Civil War News, and the Gettysburg Times. He is currently working on a series of children’s books.
Leon volunteers at the Gettysburg National Park Visitor’s Center, assisting visitors with research about their ancestors, and serves as a tour guide at the Jennie Wade House in Gettysburg.
