Beamie Young is an award-winner photographer who has been creating fine art photographs for more than 30 years. Her evolution as an artist parallels her professional development. Much of Beamie's early work was in black and white photography, and she became skilled in the art of the darkroom. She enjoys the challenges posed by new techniques and technological developments in photography, and today she is skilled in digital techniques. Many of Beamie's images are High Dynamic Range images in which multiple exposures are compressed into one image, resulting in much more detail in the highlights and shadows. Beamie prints her photographs on aluminum sheets called metal prints. MetalPrints represent a new art medium for preserving photos by infusing dyes directly into these specially coated aluminum sheets. Since the image is infused onto the surface and not on it, images will take on an almost magical luminescence with vibrant colors and exceptional detail.
