First Friday December with Milan Melicharek

Posted by Linda Atiyeh - November 18, 2016

We are very pleased to announce that Gallery 30 will host painter Milan Melicharek during the First Friday reception on December 2nd 2016.

Milan Melicharek, who has been represented by Gallery 30 since 2009, paints in both oil and watercolor. His work work has been shown in exhibits and galleries across the Mid Atlantic region, including the Allentown Art Museum, New Jersey Festival of Fine Arts and the annual Pennsylvania Watercolor Society Show.

Milan is a crowd favorite at Gallery 30 because of his unique interpretation of the bucolic countryside. He's really a master at manipulating the subtle nuances of light and shadow, particularly in his depiction of the sky, which gives his oil landscapes a sense of grandeur.

Milan retired in 2005 after teaching art in New Tripoli, Pennsylvania for more than 30 years. He received his BS in Art Education from Kutztown University in 1973. He later studied painting at the University of Salzburg in Austria and also under the instruction of the well-known watercolorist Edgar A. Whitney. Over the years, his work has been selected for numerous juried exhibitions, including Gallery in the Park, the Bethlehem Art Show, and the Mayfair Juried Art Show.

Come meet Milan Melicharek, explore local art, and enjoy a wine and cheese reception at Gallery 30 from 5:30-8:00 PM on Friday, December 2, 2016. Gallery 30 is located at 26 York Street in Gettysburg. For more information visit www.gallery30.com or call 717-334-0335.
