Celebrate Lincoln at November First Friday

For First Friday and all of November, we celebrate the life and legacy of Abraham Lincoln. His accomplishments were many, but one rises above the rest and is near and dear to our hearts. After 154 years, the much beloved Gettysburg Address still stands as one of the most influential statements of our national purpose.

November First Friday Festivities

For our First Friday festivities, we will have a special display of Lincoln inspired Americana Art and Licensed Battlefield Guide and author, Joe Mieczkowski, will join us once again for an encore visit. Joe will be on hand to discuss and sign his most recent book, After Gettysburg: Lee Retreats, Meade Pursues.

A Civil War living historian and educator, Joe is also the author of two companion books on civil war political history, Lincoln and his Cabinet and Jefferson Davis and his Cabinet. An expert in all things Gettysburg, Joe was the past President of both the Gettysburg Civil War Roundtable and The Association of Licensed Battlefield Guides.

Joe’s latest book, After Gettysburg: Lee Retreats, Meade Pursues, masterfully traces the movements of both the Army of the Potomac and the Army of Northern Virginia, in the months that followed the Battle of Gettysburg.

Please join us Friday, November 3rd from 5:30-8:30 pm to celebrate Abraham Lincoln. The festivities will also include entertainment by local musicians Tom May on guitar, and Dan Dandy on the Cajon - a box-shaped hand percussion instrument. Complimentary refreshments will be served.
